The future of the automotive industry is connected; it is the internet of things, but also the autonomous driving cars. The main design challenges are Quality, Safety and Security. Solutions for these challenges are found in System and IC design using information from sensors, camera, radar, motion sensors etc. The future car communicates with other vehicles, with traffic lights, with trains and boats. Also, the car will be online to always be updated on traffic, road work, accidents and maybe even weather conditions. These bring a whole new aspect of safety criteria and security.
